The project arose from the meeting between the team of La Friche bookstore, located in the 11th district of Paris and Dimitri Sautier interior architect and designer. From this exchange was born a common desire to transform this space into a unique and emblematic place of the district: “a bookshop all in oak”. In addition to the shelves and furniture, the ceiling is also in oak and worked according to a checkerboard screen. It gives a poetic vibration and unity to the overall volume. For reaction to fire issues imposed by Public Access Buildings regulations, it has been completely covered with a colorless matt intumescent varnish, which gives it the classification Bs1d0 / M1
