2015 – The Emerige Group asked the Bouroullec brothers, represented by Galerie kreo, for the creation of a new concept of sales space for the Batignolles program. It was not a question of using a usual structure, but of asking the designers to imagine a demountable autonomous space which could be reused for other purposes. Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec thus created Le Kiosque, composed of a powder-coated steel structure, surmounted by a large roof, surrounded by large bay windows and a large terrace. The panels used for the interior design are fireproof MDF, veneered in oak then varnished with a non-derating finish.
The design and production by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec for Emerige of two copies of the Kiosk required more than three years of work. They drew on the skills of the atelier bl.am Lemunier & Meyer (Nantes) to achieve the technical challenges. The Kiosk can be assembled in three hours and can be placed in a semi-trailer to be moved. Thus, after the marketing phase, the two Kiosks will be offered to the City of Paris, which will move them from arrondissement to arrondissement to accommodate social and cultural projects accessible to as many people as possible (association meetings, exhibitions, information kiosks or other neighborhood events).
