The ambition was to create a new space and upgrade a volume that appeared before the work on two floors, a mezzanine and a staircase blocking the perspective. The new ceiling, made of 1,100 pieces of wood created and assembled by hand, adorns the space, thus giving a new strong identity to the foyer of the Carrousel du Louvre. All parts have been fireproofed by the application of an intumescent system, leading to a Euroclass B / M1 classification which satisfies the passive fire protection regulations in the Public Access Buildings
