The owners of this restaurant are professional butchers. Their building used to house the butcher’s shop, a bakery, a fruit and vegetable early harvester and an unused part. Interior architect Soetkin De Cadt was consulted to consider a design for this unoccupied space; the raw building with concrete block walls, concrete slab and non-insulated metal roof then became a welcoming restaurant. The wood used for the counter and walls is fire-retardant spruce by application of intumescent varnish, in order to meet the requirements of passive fire regulations.
