The Porte de Montmartre district is a sector of economic and social reconquest in Paris, through a Large Urban Renovation Project (GPRU). The Binet islet, backing onto the northern ring road, has been in perpetual movement for almost seven years; this new business building, business hotel signed by Atelier Zündel Cristea and initiated by RIVP, meets the needs of small and medium local – between 50 and 150 sqm, areas most demanded by start-ups.
The structure is made up of posts and beams which carry reinforced concrete floors. The load-bearing structure is highlighted inside and outside the building, by regular frames and exposed beams, which assert an industrial identity. All the interior cladding woods, which form a strong contrast to the raw concrete, are 3-ply solid fireproof Ignipli® panels. Some, in the office rooms, are perforated and varnished according to a complex layout to meet the needs of sound absorption. Others, in the corridors in wall facing and joinery (doors, openings, etc.) are full and rough sanded. In all, some 2,500 square meters of Ignipli® Euroclass B have been laid out.
